No FY 2011 budget this year

Well at least not until after the November 2, 2010 elections. The Democrats don’t want to admit to more borrowed spending which will lead to even more debt. But if the Republicans take over the house, you can bet the Obama administration will try to push all of its agenda through the lame duck Congress.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT)

Both the House and the Senate have introduced amendments attached to defense spending to repeal DADT. The Pentagon will not finish their study until December. Why push this before the Pentagon study is complete?

Gates reiterated that repeal would not be implemented until President Barack Obama and his military chiefs “can certify that we are ready to make this change without hurting unit cohesion, military readiness, military effectiveness, and recruiting and retention.”

Obamacare 2.0 – Struggles along

From Speaker Pelosi, “We will do whatever is necessary.” Not unlike our founding fathers but with the intent of bypassing the US Constitution. They intend to “DEEM” the Senate bill passed so no one has to vote for or against the bill. We have them feeling a litte nervous!

And those “special” deals that were to be eliminated? Well, some, if not most, will still be included. Cost? They have no idea, but the cost almost certainly will be higher. And the special deals are most likely continuing behind close doors.

Audit the FED? Are you serious?

FED Earnings for 2009The Federal Reserve earned $45 billion in 2009! That is more profit than earned by all those big banks they bailed out! It will be turned over to the US Treasury. This of course has given rise to lots of speculation on just how they earned the revenue.

Both legislature bodies introduced bills to audit the FED. The Senate bill has been blocked but the House bill, H.R. 1207 , is still alive.

While auditing the FED might be a good idea, and even some reform, it would be really stupid to do so at this time. Only the FED can save us as Congress seems clueless. Besides suffering from SDD (Science Deficit Disorder), they also suffer from EDD (Economics Deficit Disorder). The FED is walking a tightrope and has been for decades. One should first understand why Congress created the FED – by Democrats no less. All that aside, the redeeming feature of the FED is that it is independent of politics. Except for the President appointing upper personal with Senate approval. Since the early 70s, the FED has been warning Congress about the national debt. Has Congress listened? Of course not. This is typical of our Congress. It passes off its responsibility, does stupid things, and then blames the bureaucracy it created – as if they didn’t have any role in creating the problem. Just like the mortgage crisis which was rooted in Freddie and Fannie created by the US Congress. But it was all the fault of the bankers according to the politicians. Even though the FED, and many others, warned Congress repeatedly.

Flashback: Pelosi Says Not Giving Members Three Days to Read Bill Is ‘Absolute Outrage’

Hey Pelosi and 0bama,

What happened to to ‘72-hour’ pledge?
What happened to the ‘transparency’ pledge?
What happened to the ‘bipartisanship’ pledge?

I know what happened Pelosi and 0bama…YOU LIE!

This lady is so delusional it’s absolutely amazing that she has reached the place of power she’s now in. I wonder how much she actually believes her own lies–because that’s all that seems to come out of her mouth. Pelosi is the perfect posterchild for everything that’s wrong with Washington.

AP (and others) are hearing that AARP will endorse House health care bill

AP Logo ImageWASHINGTON — Officials are telling The Associated Press that AARP, the seniors’ lobby, will endorse the health care overhaul bill that House Democrats are preparing to take to the floor.

Officials with knowledge of the group’s decision told The Associate Press on Wednesday that the senior’s lobby has decided to give the $1.2 trillion measure its seal of approval. An announcement is expected Thursday. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement has not been made.

The endorsement, in advance of floor votes as early as this weekend, would be a major boost for President Barack Obama’s signature issue.

Why would the AARP endorse a bill that will take 400 Billion, or more, out of Medicare? The cynic replies: “Obviously they think they can sell more Medicare Gap insurance to their members.” Some examples of AARP treatment of Seniors.

Update: AARP announcement today 5/11/09 at 11:30 am EST.
