Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano talks border security

In Afghanistan! DHS Secretary Napolitano arrived in Kabul on Dec 30, 2010, to help the Afghans secure their border.

The reports have not mentioned if any Afghans rolled their eyes, where smirking in the background, or just plain falling down on the ground laughing (ROFLMAO).

First things first – Immigration Reform

The rule of problem solving requires to first identify the problem. If you don’t fix the problem, you just end up trying to patch symptoms and consequences of the problem. For too long our government has treated symptoms and consequences instead of the underlying problem. So Congress, here is what we expect.

Immigration – Unless you complete the fence, prosecute employers who hire illegals, and stop people from overstaying their VISA, you can NEVER solve the problem. Congress has had almost a quarter century to solve this problem.

A busy day in the US Senate

For an organization that normally only meets three days a week, the lame-duck Senate is working overtime. And they have many pressing matters to attend to – just like last week. All because this Congress didn’t do it’s job for most of the year. Pathetic! People of Nevada, what were you thinking? Senator Reid is still trying to use cram-down methods which have more in common with Hugo Chavez than George Washington. The agenda includes:

The gentle Swiss

Swiss voters approve harsher deportation plan

Switzerland has approved a plan to automatically deport foreigners convicted of serious crimes. The proposal, put forth by the nationalist Swiss People’s Party, has been criticized by human rights groups.

In the text of the article, common sense is called far-right.

Swiss voters have approved a far-right initiative to automatically expel foreign residents convicted of serious crimes, according to poll results.

Seems logical – who wants foreign criminals in their midst?

Question – The DREAM Act

The DREAM Act is yet more legislation for political gain without addressing the REAL problem of illegal immigration. We need to HAMMER Congress on their failure on immigration – hence the use of QUARTER CENTURY as a time reference.

Since 6 Nov 1986, when The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 was passed, Congress has failed to live up to its commitment.

Question: How is it that one year short of a QUARTER CENTURY, Congress has failed to do its part to secure the borders and over staying of VISAs?

What’s with the Questions?

Urgent action required – Defense Authorization Bill

Harry Reid is pushing for a cloture vote on the National Defense Authorization Bill (H.R. 5136). This used to be the ONE spending bill voted on without any political game playing – until 2008. But Harry Reid has added three non-germane amendments to the bill.

  1. Repeal of Don’t ask – don’t tell. The service chiefs were tasked by Congress to determine the impact of such a change – which was very reasonable.
  2. Allow abortions on all US military bases.
  3. Amnesty for illegal aliens via the so-called “Dream-Act”

Call or email your Senator and tell them to vote NO on Cloture to the National Defense Authorization Bill (H.R. 5136).

Sharron Angle’s next TV ad

The defense authorization bill used to be the ONE bill Congress didn’t load up with odd legislation. Until 2008. Now Harry Reid says he will add the DREAM Act , a giveaway to illegal immigrants, to the defense bill. Sharron Angle, here’s your ad. (Doesn’t the military already help soldiers to gain citizenship? So what’s going on?)

From Rasmussen, they are tied at 48% with only 3% not sure and 2% other. This includes voters leaning toward a candidate. But if you look at his survey, you find some interesting detail.

Documented Cost of the Undocumented

This is proof it is time to overhaul Congress. Wake up America! Both parties have screwed the citizens for political gain when it comes to immigration. It ends NOW! They both put their party ahead of the nation and its people.

ICE – Catch and release program

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) says that as of Sunday, Sept. 5, it had caught-and-released 506,232 illegal aliens who are now fugitives. That is more than the population of Sacramento, California, which currently numbers 486,189.

Fugitive illegal aliens are individuals who were apprehended ICE for being in the United States illegally and then were released ahead of their court proceedings and deemed fugitive when they failed to appear in court.

To quote Dirty Harry, “Swell!”.

The DOJ might be very busy the next couple of years

Governors favor tough stand on illegal immigration

Well we all knew this would end up at the Supreme Court. Doesn’t everything these days?
