Bret Baier interviewed President Obama

In what was the toughest interview of their lives, for Bret and the President, Bret asked good questions, many submitted by viewers, but the President either doesn’t know what special deals are still in the bill or doesn’t want to say. He did promise it would be posted for 72 hours before the vote. (Video and transcript) Also watch the Brit Hume comments on the interview.

Obama says to ignore the process but that was the basis of many viewer questions and he responded with talking points.

OBAMA: Bret, let me finish. If they don’t, if they vote against, then they’re going to be voting against health care reform and they’re going to be voting in favor of the status quo. So Washington gets very concerned about these procedural issues in Congress. This is always an issue that’s — whether Republicans are in charge or Democrats in charge — when Republicans are in charge, Democrats constantly complain that the majority was not giving them an opportunity, et cetera.

What the American people care about is the fact that their premiums are going up 25, 40, 60 percent, and I’m going to do something about it.

Of course no one ever explains WHY state regulators allow the companies to raise their rates. Here is an educated guess. With such high unemployment, more and more people are falling into the uninsured. The insurance companies must collect hundreds of dollars from individuals covered each month to pay the thousands or millions of dollars they pay out each month. As medical costs rise, the providers must raise their prices. But Medicare and Medicaid do NOT raise their reimbursements. Thus the paying public have to make up the difference. And Obamacare will make this effect worse than ever. Odds are rates would not be going up if unemployment was at 5-6% and not hovering at 10%. And you just know it will be the paying public and taxpayers that will have to pay for all those “special” deals.

Just keep calling your representatives so they know they will pay with their jobs if they vote for this abomination of OUR Nation’s principles. Closing the “donut hole” with borrowed money because the Medicare Part D was unfunded just means they are digging a big hole deeper. The two major issues for the citizens are unemployment and debt. Obamacare will NOT help to improve either of these problems – and may well make them worse. Plus the taxes will start immediately but benefits will not start for several years. This ensures that the CBO costs will be lower but that citizens will feel the pain without any benefits. Which will make it easier to kick out anyone who votes for this catastrophe.
