Hearings on DOJ after November?

It certainly looks like something fishy was going on at DOJ over the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) case – if you didn’t already think so. Christopher Coates will testify.

Told by the Department of Justice to ignore a subpoena from the Civil Rights Commission, former Voting Section Chief Coates has instead chosen to comply. His testimony Friday morning is likely to be incredibly damaging to DOJ leadership and the Obama administration.

Having the DOJ tell an employee to ignore a subpoena from the Civil Rights Commission seems very fishy. Background video (PJTV). Full text (PDF) of Christopher Coates’ testimony. Here is the summary so you don’t have to download and read the PDF. Seems some in the DOJ had decided the Voter Rights Act only applies to ethnic minorities – and maybe only specific minorities. Certainly seems enough to suggest the Republicans will be holding hearings if they gain the House. Its not just fishy, it smells bad.
