Who are the one percenters?

The left seems to assume they are all on Wall Street and Republicans. But what about all those athletes and entertainers? While I agree that CEO pay is too high in many corporations for the role they play, they at least oversee a large number of jobs. Athletes and entertainers, not so much. While some are admirable in their philanthropic efforts, few would last one year in STEM college courses or occupations. So let us review some of those Wall Street one percenters.

Jamie Dimon – The current chairman, president and chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase, who has been in the news a lot lately, is a Democrat and supporter of Barack Obama.

Larry Fink – The chairman and chief executive officer of BlackRock, an American multinational investment management corporation. BlackRock is the largest money-management firm in the world. In short, a huge Bain Capital type company. He could be called the father of mortgage-backed securities. He is a Democrat and supports Barack Obama.

Bill Gross – Co-founder of PIMCO, the world’s largest bond fund, is a Democrat and Obama supporter. Fink and Gross on Occupy Wall Street.

For the Democrat left and Occupy Wall Street, I offer the great observation of Pogo the cartoon character “We have met the enemy… and he is us”. Or at least one of us!

To paint our current economic situation as anything but a government failure is incredulous beyond belief.

I forgot to add Jon Corzine, former CEO of Goldman Sacks, NJ Democrat Senator and Governor, then CEO and Chairman of MF Global where he screwed the pooch and drove the company into bankruptcy. It is thought, but not yet proven, that he used customer funds to make company bets in the derivative market. So far, a large amount of these funds can not be found.
